About Us

A geodesic dome is a structural design characterized by a network of great triangles connected and forming a spherical view. These domes are known for their strength, stability, and efficient use of materials. The architect and engineer R. Buckminster Fuller popularized the design in the mid-20th century. Geodesic domes have been used for various purposes, including housing, greenhouses, exhibition spaces, etc. In our project, we built the 6V geodesic dome using a network of interconnected struts that form triangular frames. The framework consists of six different strut lengths, each contributing to the overall geometry of the dome. The struts meet at bolt joints, forming the vertices of the triangles and providing stability to the entire structure. This entire structure analyzed and calculated the anticipated loads on the dome, including dead loads, live loads, and environmental loads (wind, snow).
